I teach fly fishing and fly casting mostly in and around Vienna, but I’m open to everything. Timewise I’m completely flexible too.
Sometimes I process long hours on the water into short minutes on screen. Have a look at my videos – I can teach you to cast and fish like that.
Fly fishing is often like this: Two fly fisherman meet on a creek. They present – their shiny new rods. Their conversation is catalogue talk: light, fast, precise…
Somewhere upstream is another presentation happening: Another fisherman is stalking a wary brown trout. There is only one spot he can cast without being noticed. There is no room for a back cast. He pulls line off his reel, throws a Single Spey effortlessly, and presents the fly with a precise Arial Mend. The fly lands lightly in front of the trout. It is unsuspicious and takes it. It’s the Indian, not the bow. I can teach you to be that fisherman.
Fly fishing is easy. Everyone can learn it. With a good teacher: fast. Do it right from the start.
I’m a certified Master Casting Instructor with the Organisation Fly Fishers International - one of three in Austria.
I pursue efficiency, perfection and elegance in fly casting. Every day.
But a good cast alone won’t catch you a fish. I’ll show you how to spot and stalk a fish with the right cast, presentation and fly. But most important of all, we’ll have a great time on the water.
You are a lady and your better treated you with a nice rod, lots of equipment and little patience. I’ll teach and you both have a good time together afterwards.
You’ve been fishing for a while now and would like to learn new casts or fix your flaws? I only need to see a few casts and know what to do. Elegant, efficient casts without tailing loops are totally different ballgame compared to getting the line out there somehow.
Do you have to be a good caster to catch a fish? No – every bad caster can reassure you that. Except maybe for the one that’s wary, on the far bank, under the bushes. The fish of a lifetime shouldn’t happen by chance.
